Last week we created a Basics show focused on Linux containers. This week we'd created a companion Basics show to explain how to actually get applications into Linux containers. We discussed how to choose a base container image, how the layering of a container works, and how to think about the Operating System vs. Application vs. Application dependencies.

We also discussed the differences between the details (metadata) needed to create a container, and the details (manifest) to get Kubernetes to understand how the container needs to run - things like high availability, IP addressing and the location of storage or persistent data.

The show will always be available on this blog (search: #PodCTL), as well as RSS FeedsiTunesGoogle Play, SoundCloudStitcherTuneIn and all your favorite podcast players.
