We are thrilled to share that OpenShift has received the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) CODiE Award for Best Platform-as-a-Service for the second year in a row. These consecutive CODiE award wins show how well our container application platform has been received by our peers in the software industry. Combined with other industry recognition, the award reinforces that Red Hat is helping to set the bar for cloud-native and modern application development.

The OpenShift by Red Hat portfolio is the only container application platform specifically designed for Docker formatted-Linux containers. With Kubernetes orchestration capabilities at its core, OpenShift provides a consistent platform for cloud-based development or on-premise deployment enabling users to create microservices-based applications and modernize their traditional workloads - all on a platform that brings the security features of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

OpenShift has also garnered recent, significant customer wins in state government and global banking. The North Carolina Department of IT announced they are using OpenShift Dedicated, our managed container application platform, to transform its state government website. The Royal Bank of Scotland has combined Red Hat Mobile Application Platform and OpenShift to power their Open Experience technology solutions center, and finally, in May 2016, BBVA announced a global strategic collaboration with Red Hat as a priority partner. The collaboration is designed to focus on business and technical alignment to accelerate BBVA’s innovation as their global volume of financial transactions on digital devices and digital banking services grows.
