John on OpenShift

  • Name: John Clark
  • Hometown: Boston, MA
  • Twitter and blog: @ajohnclark
  • Primary development language(s): PHP or Python
  • Technology you’re most interested in right now: Python, Java, Matlab, R
  • Application currently hosted on OpenShift: MagicWriter
  • Technologies used: PHP, Bootstrap and JavaScript

What’s it do?

The Magic Writer writes you a plain english email with analysis of your Google Analytics tracked websites every week!

What motivated you to create the application?

I didn’t have the time to check my Google Analytics or the money to hire someone to tell me what is happening on my websites.

What are the most compelling features of OpenShift?

The DIY App is my favorite OpenShift feature, ever. The best part is I can get the benefits of powerful server-side software to quickly utilize in my applications. OpenShift overall makes it painfully easy to create and use powerful applications without managing a server.

What are some features you’d like to see in OpenShift?

I’d like to see the ability to do bulk emailing.
