Today, we’re excited to announce the upcoming release of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 3.7. OpenShift is one of the only platforms to run both traditional and cloud-native applications with Kubernetes, and we’re focused on making it easier for our customers to build and securely manage those applications in a hybrid-cloud environment. To that end, OpenShift Container Platform 3.7 significantly expands how we integrate third-party services for our customers, both on-premises and in the cloud. It includes:

  • The general availability of OpenShift Service Catalog, which includes a new user experience to make it easier for developers to find the runtimes, frameworks, and services they need to be productive. Read more about the Service Catalog and Broker in this deep-dive post.
  • Access to AWS through the OpenShift platform In OCP 3.7, AWS and OpenShift users will be able to configure and deploy AWS services from within the OpenShift platform, with a single path for support. These capabilities will be generally available with the release of OpenShift Container Platform 3.7. For more information, please read our press release, which includes the initial list of services accessible from OCP 3.7.

OpenShift Container Platform v3.7 will ship within the coming weeks, but if you’re headed to AWS re:Invent, please drop by and visit Red Hat at Booth 910 on the expo floor to preview the release and see the newest features in action. We'll also be at KubeCon North America (booth D1), and engaging with the community at our upcoming OpenShift Commons Gathering, in Austin the day before the event.

Our thanks for this release go out to our friends at Amazon, whose team have worked tirelessly with ours over the past few months, and of course, to our users and community. We’ll be providing more information on the upcoming release of OpenShift Container Platform 3.7 in the coming weeks and will be updating the OpenShift blog accordingly.
